Hi. My name is Soobin Choi. I am writing to apply for 3D Character Artist. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree program in Animation and Visual Effects in 2022. With my strong passion for creating visually stunning and technically accurate 3D models, coupled with my extensive experience and proficiency in industry-standard software, I believe I would be a valuable asset to your team.

 

I have been working as a Character artist Artist at Encore VFX for the past 1 year. During this period I was mainly in charge of modeling various environment and character assets, ensuring that all assigned projects were completed within schedule.

 

I have experience in many areas ranging from 3D VFX, Modeling, Lookdev, Grooming, Compositing, Texturing. My responsibilities have included the creation of low-ploy 3D models to ensure the game or program, movie or TV dramas runs smoothly, sculpting a high level of detail mesh, retopologizing and baking, as well as texturing. I can work in my own style by converting to 3D based on Concept Art. I have studied Fine Art painting for nine years. It helped me develop creative and collaborative skills, and it gave me the experience of thinking fast and adjusting and adapting to new directions.

 

I work with Zbrush and Maya as a Modeler, Substance Painter, Houdini, Xgen, Renderman, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Shotgun Studio. I enjoy constantly learning new skills as well as from contracted projects, personal projects, through books, online tutorials, and subscription-based services.

 

As a Character Modeler for Doom Patrol S4 and Gen Zeroes, Walker: Independence, Dead boy Detectives projects at Encore VFX. I have a working knowledge of Producing and the pipeline, as well as being able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas in a positive manner. My strong understanding of design principles, production processes, and 3D pipelines allows me to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and deliver high-quality assets within deadlines. I can multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently, all while working collaboratively with possible teammates.
